The Plaza de la Marqueta is a beautiful plaza that gathers a series of artisans and businesses worthy of interest. Inaugurated on May 19, 1948, it was named Plaza O'Donnell, in honor of Captain Leonoldo O'Donnell, then governor of the island. Among the businesses that stand out are the engraving workshop and the bookstore, the Artex store and the inevitable Casa del Tabaco. Statues inspired by the daily life of Cubans also surround the perimeter. A place not to be missed during a visit to downtown.
