FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DEL CINE POBRE
The Festival Internacional del Cine Pobre de Gibara takes place in April not far from Holguín and promotes alternative cinema.
Organized since 2003 in Gibara (a small seaside town not far from Holguín), this festival is held every year in April. Organized by the ICAIC (Cuban Institute of Art and Cinematographic Industry), the event brings together independent authors on the fringe of the international production system. Film buffs should not miss the Festival Internacional del Cine Pobre de Gibara, undoubtedly one of the most interesting cinematographic events in the country.
