Built in the 16th century, this Baroque church dedicated to San Salvador was rebuilt several times, especially after the city fire of 1869. Beautifully restored, you will notice the beauty of the precious wooden ceiling and the preservation of the small chapel(Capilla de la Dolorosa) dating from the first half of the 17th century. In 1869, the Cuban Independents sang the Cuban national anthem, La Bayamesa, for the first time. A visit that will please both lovers of sacred architecture and history buffs.
