Set in a large park adorned with contemporary sculptures and housed in the former Saturnino Lora provincial hospital, the museum evokes the memory of Abel Santamaría. Second in command of the Moncada attack, Santamaría seized the hospital to support the assault on the barracks. A few weeks later, Fidel Castro and his companions were put on trial in the Nurses' College Study Center. Abel Santamaría was tortured to death.
