NUNGI SAFARIS UGANDA (SMC) LIMITED

In November 2023, my friends and I wanted a vacation for a weekend and since we were already in Uganda, we wanted to go for a weekend on holiday in Jinja. A friend recommended Amos to us who is the owner of nungi safaris. And trust me from the word go, Amos was very calm and welcoming even when we had a very little budget for the trip because we’re in Uganda for university internships. Amos organized a perfect trip for us to Jinja that fully fit well within our budget. We received all that we were promised and to my thinking, we might have even got more of the service . My friends were very happy at the end of the holiday weekend in Jinja and trust me we shall be coming back to Uganda in future for a more serious safari through out the wild and Amos + nungi safaris, will be our travel partner. So in case you are out there and looking to travel to Uganda, nungi safaris is a tried and tested!

LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!!

I honestly can't speak highlyenough of my experience with Nungi Safaris while on the Rwanda -Uganda Safari withthem. From the very start, Amos was accommodating and responsive to my(often many!) emails and queries regarding this Rwanda-Uganda safaritrip, and very kindly assisted me with the visa application process. He wasalso happy to alter the itinerary to my requests, which allowed us to include atrip to Mabamba Bay to see the Shoebill Stork.

Willy was my tour guide, who was genuinely amazing the entire trip! He dideverything he could to make sure I had the best Rwanda-Uganda Safari experiencepossible, including making some last-minute calls to park rangers in NyungweNational Park to ensure I had the best chance of seeing chimpanzees andgetting me in with the trekking group for seeing the best gorilla family in theRuhija sector of Bwindi National Park, which has 3 silverbacks and 2 babies!

Willy was a Knowledgeable Company on the road trips between each activity andwas so knowledgeable about the culture, history, wildlife, and everything elseyou might like to know about Rwanda and Uganda. Every question I had wasanswered! Many days we spent 5-6 hours or more in the car, taking in thegorgeous scenery, having chats and with great music to keep us bothuplifted the entire time. He was very attentive and was brilliant incommunicating each step of the itinerary, with realistic time frames of howlong each road trip, trek, hike, etc., would take.

He arranged the check-ins at each accommodation, and the registrations at eachactivity. I was looked after and felt extremely safe the entire trip. He washappy to stop at any moment for photos of the stunning scenery, and was able tospot various wildlife along the roadside, including Black and White ColobusMonkeys that we were extremely lucky to see while driving through Nyungwe NationalPark in Rwanda!

The accommodation overall was fabulous, particularly the last 2 nights (BakigaLodge and Mpogo Safari Lodge), and the food was also amazing. Some of theactivities, such as the Mount Bisoke hike and Gorilla trek, required a packedlunch, which the accommodations were happy to arrange with multiple mealoptions available to choose from.

Amos called to check in regularly to make sure everything was going well andthat I was happy with my experience. He also made a huge effort and managed tomeet us on the last day of the tour for a section of our road trip to Entebbe,so it was lovely to meet him in person and get to hear about his life andpassion for his business.

This trip/itinerary with Nungi Safaris is something I have been looking at onand off for over a year. It stayed in the back of my mind the whole time, but Ikept talking myself out of it as it’s a long way to travel for just one weekand would take a lot to save up for it. However, it was still the best valueweek-long itinerary I could find that covered Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking,amongst many other activities. I finally talked myself into taking the plungeand booking the tour, and my God I am so glad that I did! I think in Amos andWilly I have made some great friends for life! A once in a lifetime experiencethat I will never forget! 100% I recommend Nungi Safaris to any person whowishes to travel to Uganda or Rwanda.
