Surrounded by the waters of the lake, this establishment, an integral part of the NGO Lake Bunyonyi Development Company, is located on a quiet 16-hectare island where eucalyptus trees grow. Don't hesitate to try the crayfish on the restaurant's menu! Several jetties allow you to bask in the sun and take a dip in the schistosome-free waves. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the perimeter path, the volleyball court and even the rope swing... Unfortunately, the accommodations don't live up to the very warm welcome.

Bushara island is a great island to stay with a circular path that enable you to walk the entire island.
I met Evas and Hillary who so good and they helped us to pick a perfect room for four days.

I came back this year to Bushara and hope I’ll come again ! Thank you Evas, Anne and the team for such a wonderful stay. The island is so peaceful, a perfect place to rest and observe birds. Food is delicious and inexpensive :)
Thanks a lot again !

We came with our tent and camped here - camping goes at a fair rate of 10USD per tent per night.
The place is very beautiful and peaceful. You can go for a tour in the dugout (e.g. to zebra island - be aware that steering this thing ain’t easy :D), hang out at the swimming spot or simply just enjoy the nature and birdlife on the island. The staff working here is very heartwarming.
Plenty of food and drinks are also available in the restaurant at very reasonable prices. (Check their website - the prices from 2016 are still correct)
Just soda is a bit pricy.

The only thing to improve would be quality of the Wifi available. The manager is always listening and will buy new data volume if it doesn‘t work anymore. However, it usually only worked for about an hour at a time at rather slow speeds..
