Having a week off from working in Murchison Falls National Park a colleague suggested the Duchess. So glad they did. Immediately felt at home with great staff, comfy and clean bedrooms with AMAZING pizza! Highly recommend for fair priced accommodation with everything you need close to centre of FP. Well done Duchess team! Great work

Fuimos a comer a este restaurante recomendados por nuestro driver y la verdad que nos encantó. Se encuentra muy cerca del centro de Fort Portal y ofrece platos con muy buena relación calidad-precio. Queríamos probar la hamburguesa de carne de cocodrilo pero desgraciadamente no tenían, por lo que pedimos unos shawarmas, muy buenos.
Los camareros son amabílisimos, dispuestos a resolver todas nuestras dudas.
Terminamos con un café con leche, con vainilla y canela, con el detallito del "pepernoten" neerlandés que no se nos pasó por alto haciendo referencia a la nacionalidad de los dueños :)
Además, ofrecen algunos souvenirs de asociaciones locales muy bonitos. Compramos una cesta y una figura de un africano en bicicleta. Una maravilla.
Recomiendo fuertemente este sitio en caso de que se pase por Fort Portal.

I love this place. We had five meals at the restaurant. Their burgers, locally made fish stew, pizza, and fries are amazing. You can try their meals out.

The food was the best I had in fortportal. They have continental dishes and really quite upscale (for Fortportal standards). I strongly recommend it. My daughters liked Piza and the complimentary wine????

I ended up here after walking away from a bad situation and I needed a place to get my head together. I initially arrived for one night and ended up staying four! I stayed one night in Kibale, a double room which was lovely and then moved to a suite for 3 nights. The hot water was wonderful, everything was clean, and comfortable. Staff were just lovely! Owner Helen and her husband were really friendly even though busy. Food is amazing. Chocolate Mousse (thank you Helen) was just the best. The ice cream was the best I have had after 20 years in Africa!!! The chef makes mean poached eggs too. Just go, it's perfect, it's a lovely place to be, everything is there a few minutes away, the bank, supermarkets and everything you need. The four season pizza was really good too. Just so many good things to say about this place and nothing negative at all!!!!

Unglaublich leckere Pizza. Aber auch der Salat war super. Der Burger fanden wir nicht so lecker da das Fleisch wohl mit Zimt gewürzt war. Ansonsten sehr nettes und hervorragendes Personal. Gerne wieder

Lunch at the Dutchess Hotel and Restaurant's restaurant, the experience was truly lovely. We stopped by with our guide, Jack, and it still deserves a glowing 5-star review!

The lunch menu offered a wonderful variety of options, and the quality was outstanding. The pizza we enjoyed was fresh, hand made in a wood fired over, delicious and it made for a perfect midday meal.

The service is impeccable, and the ambiance was lovely, creating a relaxing atmosphere for a leisurely lunch.

For a memorable lunch experience, the Duchess Hotel and Restaurant's restaurant is a top choice, earning a well-deserved five-star rating!

Unlike most restaurants that have a long list of items on the menu that don't exist in the thier kitchen.
The dutchess served every thing I want sow on the menu as long as I wanted it it was delivered including the crocodile ribs.
I also happened to forget my wallet in their restaurant, before I realized that I lost my wallet, they had already called me and everything was in it including all the money and my documents. That was really honest and lovely.
