Just over 100 km from Mbale, the Kapkwata guesthouse/resthouse, run by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, is ideally situated for hikers wishing to tackle the Piswa Trail. It is also possible to stay in Suam, in UWA-managed accommodation close to the Kenyan border (eastern slope of the Mount Elgon massif). Meals can be ordered. Reservation and information at the UWA office in Mbale.
