Palace of residence of the Lanza-Filangeri princes with very well preserved furniture

The Mirto Palace (18th century) was the residence of the Lanza-Filangeri princes, a great Sicilian aristocratic family. The furniture is very well preserved. The Pompadour Hall is impressive with its mosaics and its tapestry sewn with golden threads! Also have a look at the baroque fountain with its shell-covered aviaries and the surprising Chinese salon. The trompe l'oeil ceiling and walls lined with painted silk attest to the sumptuous life of the period. Admire the wonderful collection of carriages, one of the most beautiful in the world.
