In a timeless architectural setting, you will discover the history of Sicily during the Risorgimento, the unification of the nation by Garibaldi. The museum was inaugurated in 1918. It is the result of continuous research by the Institute for the History of the Homeland, founded at the end of the 19th century. The different phases are detailed: from the revolution and the war against the Austrian Empire, from the years 1820 to 1849, to the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy in 1861. Beautiful library with archives, including interesting maps of Sicily.
