CASTELLO ARABO NORMANNO
Castle built on a rocky spur by the Arabs, now housing the Water Museum
In a strategic position, this massive castle built on a rocky spur by the Arabs in the 10th century stands proudly on the port. At the heart of territorial struggles, it was redesigned by the Normans, Swiss and Aragonese from the 14th to the 16th century, framed by crenellated towers and a triple protective enclosure. Today it has been restored and in addition to the tourist office, it houses the Water Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Maritime Activities. Very pleasant to visit, especially for the view and the archaeological section.
