PIAZZA MADRICE
Charming church of Maria Santissima del Soccorso with its baroque style and numerous stuccos
In Piazza Madrice, in the historic centre of the town, there is also the charming 15th century church of Maria Santissima del Soccorso, with its baroque style and numerous stuccoes, which celebrates the miracle performed by the town's patron saint. Inside there are interesting frescoes by Giuseppe Tresca dating back to the 18th century. In the past, the old centre of the town was connected by a drawbridge to the rest of the urban habitat, but this has been destroyed. A walk through the quiet little streets of the town is very pleasant.
