Erice is famous for its almond pastries (known as mandorla or mandorla in the plural), and it is here that you will find some of the best in the city. There is a wide selection of typical cakes made from this noble ingredient. These include lingua di suocera (the mother-in-law's tongue!), almond and vanilla dolcetti, and other sweets such as marzipan (the real thing) or almond granite.
