CHIESA DELL'ANNUNZIATA
Church that was originally a convent in the thirteenth century, affixed chapels more unusual than the others by Amico
This complex was originally a convent created in the 13th century by the Carmelites. Its originality comes from the fact that in the 18th century, G.B. Amico decided to furnish it with chapels, each one more unusual than the other, keeping only the rose of its façade and its 15th century portal. Above all, the chapels dedicated to the fishermen (14th century), the sailors (16th century) and the Madonna, sumptuously decorated with the famous marble statue of the Madonna di Trapani, patron saint of sailors, by the Tuscan artist Nino Pisano.
