From the old town you will be remembered as the Jewish quarter, with Ciambra palace, also called "Della Giudecca", the th century, and its beautiful Spanish Renaissance windows. It is one of the most important buildings in Sicily's Jewish community. The «Casalicchio» district, the oldest of the city, is characterized by an urban structure in the form of an Arab style labyrinth. One can see the Palazzo Cavarretta (built from 1696 to 1702), which was once the seat of the Senate of Trapani, the Palazzo Riccio di San Gioacchino, the Jesuit church, with its sumptuous baroque facade dating back to 1636, the school, the San Lorenzo Cathedral, the beautiful baroque facade, which is preserved a Crucifixion attributed to the Flemish painter Van Dyck, and the church of the Du. Purgatory (via San Francesco of Assisi, 24) with his facade that one owes to G.-B. Amico. It is in this latter that the 20 sculpted groups which represent the Passion and death of Christ are preserved.
