CASTELLO LUNA
This castle, the outer walls of which are still standing, is part of the former protective rampart on the heights of the town. The imposing medieval castle of Sciacca was built in 1380 by Guglielmo Peralta, Count of Caltabellotta, who became one of the four vicars of the Kingdom of Sicily after the death of King Frederick III (1377). The wall that was used for external defence has a polygonal plan. Inside the perimeter, to the north, was the keep, which was destroyed in 1740 by a violent earthquake. There is a room with period armour and costumes.
