Hermitage offering a mud, water and sulfurous vapors cure

Situated on Mount Kronio, this hermitage is the pretext for a nice hike. Just next door, the southern caves of San Calogero are carved into the rock and are completely natural. Inside, the atmosphere is saturated with water vapour and sulphurous gas. The temperature varies between 38 and 41 °C, and the humidity is 98%! This cure of mud, water and sulphurous vapour baths was generally indicated in the treatment of joint and inflammatory diseases. Access to the thermal baths is now closed to the public, too bad!
