PIRANDELLO HOUSE
Late eighteenth century farmhouse preserving the works and memorabilia of Luigi Pirandello
The great writer Pirandello is one of the city's prides. His casa is 6 km from Agrigento. Inside are kept posters, photographs, first editions of the works and souvenirs of Luigi Pirandello. It was in this late 18th century farmhouse that the Pirandello family took refuge from the cholera epidemic that ravaged Sicily in 1867. Under an umbrella pine tree, Il Pino, the writer rests in this place, which he describes as "a plateau of azure clay where the murmurs of the African sea arrive".
