SIREMAR
Lampedusa is one of the pearls of the Pelagie Islands, and the most convenient way to get there is by ferry. SIREMAR operates year-round services from Porto Empedocle and Linosa. Once disembarked, passengers can immediately admire the island's beauty by strolling along the palm-lined seafront and ancient houses, many of which have been converted into hotels or restaurants. Lampedusa's city center is a maze of Mediterranean-style houses, including the "seven palaces" built in the 19th century. The island's urban landscape is also graced by two works of art: Arnaldo Pomodoro's bronze stele and Cascella's marble monument to the sea. Just a short stroll from the town center, don't miss the magnificent Guitgia beach, one of Lampedusa's busiest. The island also hosts numerous festivals and celebrations throughout the year. To reach the SIREMAR pier, simply follow the signs to the port. Buses also run to Piazza C. Brignone.
