Archaeological park with an Antiquarium in a cave and large paleochristian catacombs

This 13 km long gorge dug into a plateau of the Iblei Mountains by the torrents is lined with magnificent vegetation. There are numerous cave dwellings (Salnitro caves), primitive sanctuaries of St Theodore, Nicholas, Gaetan and Rosalie, as well as necropolises used between the Neolithic and the5th century AD. In the archaeological park there is an Antiquarium in a cave which contains the objects found on the site. The great early Christian catacombs of Larderia have more than 300 burials.
