CHOMETTE CHURCH
In the heart of the village of La Chomette, which gathers about 150 inhabitants, the little church has a lot of charm. Its stone bell tower is located next to the entrance of the religious building. The jewel of this church is, however, the statue of La Virgin to the Majesty's child. A historic monument, she regained her place in the church in 2012, after 3 years of restoration at the National Heritage Institute (INP) in Paris. From Romanesque times (th century), this wooden sculpture is one of the few to have passed through the time. Probably made in a faire workshop around 1175, this virgin clothed in a large coat carries the child Jesus in his hands, which makes the blessing of one hand, and holds one book in the other.
