This district is located near the former Benedictine convent. It is one of the four historic centres of the city, known as the reference to its situation: at the foot of the medieval castle, the present convent of Saint-François. The heart of the Castellina district is the church of S. Veneranda, founded in 1180, but whose façade dates back to 1650. It is bounded to the south by the Castellina Tower (1137) and its wall wall.
