This neighborhood is a typical example of Norman urbanism: a main street and a multitude of narrow streets perpendicular to the main artery. At the end is the Chiesa degli Angeli Custodi (Church of Angels) and the chiesa S. Maria della Catena of the xiith century. In Crocifisso Street, you will find the church of the Crucifix, which can be admired by the wooden chorus and the eighteenth century organ and a crucifix used during religious processions. Next to it is the church of S. Martin of Tours erected in 1163. This is the first building built by the Normands. Please note: the nineteenth century wooden ceiling and the xve marble baptismal fonts.

La via Monte qui descend de la cathedralennous a intéressés par ses beaux anciens palais.
La pinacotheque sise dans cette rue est aussi à voir. Gratuit.
