This quarter of the city was inhabited only from 1492 by the Jews. He quickly became the commercial and artisan center of the city. It is the lowest part of the city where you can find the old fountain dei Canali, where fresh water is flowing into the médiéval. You can also see the chiesa di S. Lucia (1685) built on the ruins of a synagogue. In the northern part of the neighborhood you can visit the dell'Itria chiesa with its imposing baroque portal. It was the second church built in the city.

La fontaine Canali et son lavoir attirent les amateurs d'eau fraiche et bonne.
Je ne connais pas les vertus de cette eau. Elle a beaucoup de succès.
