Museum housing the treasures of the ancient Greco-Roman city Leontinoi.
The museum was reopened in July 2016 after renovation. The collections are presented in a new museography. The museum houses the treasures of the ancient Greco-Roman city of Leontinoi. The archaeological site is located a few hundred metres from the town of Lentini. There are remains of the fortifications of the Acropolis and monumental pyramid-shaped tombs, built over a large period between the 7th and 3rd centuries BC. In the caves of San Mauro, Byzantine frescoes can still be seen on the walls.
