Archaeological park consisting of ruins of a theater in Catania.
They are the ruins of a theatre built in lava stone, hidden behind a classical façade. The bleachers rise in a semicircle around the stage, in the ancient Greek acropolis. Up to 7,000 spectators could be seated here. Unfortunately, the site is somewhat distorted by the surrounding buildings. Right next door, the Odeon, his little brother from the same period, was certainly intended for rehearsals. Operas are organized in this ancient theater.
