CHIESA SANTA ANNUNZIATA DEI CATALANI
Don't miss the church of Santa Annunziata dei Catalani which is one of the testimonies of Norman and Gothic architecture
The church of Santa Annunziata dei Catalani is one of the surviving examples of Norman and Gothic architecture in its original plan. The dome, transept and apse date from the second half of the 12th century, while the façade has three 13th-century porches. The 1908 earthquake, instead of destroying it, freed it from later additions, miraculously restoring its original face, which combines simplicity of form with a deep spirituality.
