PASTICCERIA IRRERA
This pastry shop opened in 1910 and is a real institution known throughout Sicily. Imagine recipes that are more than a century old and that perpetuate the taste of the past. The best cassate of Messina are devoured here. The house also makes other local specialities such as the succulent cannoli, especially those with ricotta, and the inevitable granita in summer, the pignolata, a cabbage pastry glazed with lemon and chocolate, fruits in pure marzipan, candied oranges, the famous Letizia tart with marzipan, orange and vanilla.
