The church is home to some twenty mummified bodies of Piraino's former clerics. The catacombs are impressive in that they are untouched and have never been restored
; to visit them, you need to ask the parish priest, as they are accessed from inside the church, via a narrow staircase hidden beneath an iron slab in the nave. The church also houses a superb collection of 17th- and 18th-century religious ceremonial vestments, as well as a wood-carved Christ dating from the 17th century.
