It is actually called "Museum of Byzantine and Roman Culture and Figurative Arts". It is housed in a former Benedictine monastery of the sixteenth century built on an ancient church of the Byzantine-Norman period. There are older archaeological pieces, especially Roman (collection of jewelry, amphorae and other everyday objects), but especially figurative art objects such as icons. The emphasis is therefore on the Eastern Christian church.
