SOLUNTO
In this archaeological site, do not miss the rich house of Leda, decorated with mosaics, the numerous cisterns, the gymnasium...
Certainly it is not the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento. But the panorama is magnificent, the site quiet, and tourists are rare. Of this archaeological city that became Roman in the 3rd century BC before being abandoned, for unknown reasons, in the 2nd century BC, not much remains. But among the interesting dwellings: the rich mosaic house of Leda and its numerous cisterns, as well as a gymnasium, its double-columned peristyle, its fragments of mosaic pavements and its paintings from the 1st century BC.
