Founded in the late 1950s as a bar, barber shop and beauty salon, it wasn't until the early 1970s that the place became a restaurant-bar. After receiving the James Beard Award in 2005, Willie Mae Seaton's table gained recognition beyond the state's borders. Even today, this African-American specialty restaurant is famous for its fried chicken and for hosting Barack Obama during his 2015 visit to New Orleans
