The owners (a French painter, Jacques Soulas, and an eccentric American, Jerry Edgar) have managed to recreate the perfect atmosphere of a French café. You are greeted in French or English. For the aperitif, start with a Ricard or a Suze. And to whet your appetite, have a plate of homemade pâtés and cheeses. Save room for desserts. The chocolate mousse is excellent and, in summer, the homemade sorbets are not to be missed. The service is very courteous and loyal. It is also the perfect place for a little drink at the bar.

I love Cafe Degas. Menu sublime and delicious. And the cool atmosphere and ambiance.

We sat outside on a comfortable spring evening. The tables are reasonably spaced so you're not sitting in each other's laps. For appetizers we had two militon and crab bisque, a nicoise salad, and the mushroom pasta. All were very good. The bread was good but small and it was served with plenty of garlic herb butter. It disappeared quickly and despite asking (twice) for more bread we didn't receive any. Entree's were the nicoise salad with tuna, the beet salad, and the hanger steak. Both salads were enjoyed. The hanger steaks were a bit of a mixed bag though. The pommes fries were very French (and good). The steak itself was very tender except for a large piece of grizzle that was unfortunately encountered. The confusing aspect to the dish was the very large amount of soy sauce absolutely drenching the steak. I would've chosen a bearnaise sauce myself. Since there was no beer I elected for a lemon saffron cocktail that I enjoyed.

Wait staff was so polite and great, very chill vibe, patio is perfect in spring. Escargot was way too oily, almost burnt. French onion soup was great. Crab was delicious, duck confit was extremely salty. Sauvignon Blanc was wonderful, as was the creme brulee. Overall, I'd go back for happy hour and try different apps, but definitely not worth the price point when going for a 3 course meal.

This little eatery has a very comfy ambiance with great service and delicious food! The mussels were to die for and the redneck drink was really tasty and refreshing.

i had made reservations about a month ago for dinner for two. We showed up for our reservation and were taken to a table, given water, and then never attended to again. we sat there for an hour and a half and not a single person came to our table and served us or even asked if we’d been helped yet. I even noticed multiple servers standing around and we tried getting someone’s attention, to no avail. Sad to say I will not be returning or recommending.
