The owners (a French painter, Jacques Soulas, and an eccentric American, Jerry Edgar) have managed to recreate the perfect atmosphere of a French café. You are greeted in French or English. For the aperitif, start with a Ricard or a Suze. And to whet your appetite, have a plate of homemade pâtés and cheeses. Save room for desserts. The chocolate mousse is excellent and, in summer, the homemade sorbets are not to be missed. The service is very courteous and loyal. It is also the perfect place for a little drink at the bar.

The food was good, service was good. I wouldn't give it 5 stars because I felt it was just average. The place itself is extremely small for the large crowd that it attracts.

A neighborhood favorite with delicious PEI muscles and scallops with bok choy and lentils.

Great happy hour! We arrived by chance and it worth it, great place to have dinner or casual rendezvous

Low-key but charming space. Friendly, efficient service. Excellent food. I had a solo brunch, so can't comment on the Romantic potential of the space, but I had a splendid meal, a well-made Sazerac--which is not guaranteed in NOLA, surprisingly--and a nice glass of pinot noir. Prefect.

Vegies, lamb, and chocolate cake were excellent. Very classic New Orleans spot.
