Bed & Breakfast in the Mid-City area offering nearly a dozen rooms, many with whirlpool baths.

This charming bed & breakfast in the Mid-City district offers nearly a dozen rooms, including several with whirlpool baths for a well-deserved moment of relaxation. The historic character of the house has been well preserved, and the decor and furnishings are in the same spirit. The home-cooked breakfast, which varies daily, can include eggs Benedict with Creole-style hollandaise sauce and Cajun sausage, or blueberry waffles with berries and applewood-smoked bacon. Also on site: lounge with piano and courtyard with barbecue.

Located in Mid-City, I really enjoyed the different perspective on New Orleans beyond the French Quarter or Garden District. The host Brent is very helpful and candid with his recommendations about areas and restaurants to check out. Great meals were had within 2 blocks of this bnb—Madinas and Juan’s Flying Burrito. The Canal Street Streetcar is nice to take, but I wish it ran more often. The home is nicely appointed and comfortable. Brent serves a good breakfast plus has water, tea & coffee available whenever you’re thirsty.

My daughter and I enjoyed a girls' trip this past weekend to celebrate her graduation from college, and the 1896 O'Malley House and our host Brent made our weekend trip even more special.

The house is beautiful, clean, full of character and ambiance, and Brent's breakfast each morning was elegant and delicious. It was much better than a dull and mundane hotel! Brent was so friendly and personable, and we enjoyed talking with him about the history of the house and the city, and he answered our questions and gave us some good recommendations.

We never felt unsafe while walking from the house to the nearby streetcar stop, although we stayed aware of our surroundings. Our only problem was NOT ENOUGH TIME!! So we will have to go back again, and when we do, we will most definitely stay at the 1896 O'Malley House!

House is in a great location with an interesting history. Room was clean and comfy. Breakfast on Saturday was mouth-wateringly delicious. Brent, the host, was very helpful with directions and other little tidbits about the city. WE would certainly return if the opportunity arises!

10 out of 10. I'm pretty picky about where I stay on vacations... this place is absolutely perfect. The breakfasts are outstanding. The staff is amazing. Location is great. Brent is the manager of the house and he runs it as if he owns it. He will go above and beyond.... need advise or places to visit just ask Brent. He knows the city very well and is always willing to give you pointers. I would not change a thing about this house. Thank you Brent, our stay was perfect because of this house and you even though the weather was not kind!!! Only thing I would say is that the rooms are not sound proof the doors to the room are part of the original house beautiful as they are they are not soundproof at all. So if you and your significant other are shy you may have to try and be alittle quiet. Fortunately we were not shy ????. I can't wait to return again. I will stay here everytime I come to nola so as long as it stays the same. I will be back to visit this house and amazing city.
