5/5. Book it. Canal Street Inn was wonderful for my week long stay. My room was immaculate, beautiful, and comfortable with plenty of TV options when I needed to stay in after wearing myself out from activities. Breakfast was made fresh daily and Nespresso was available all day along with a variety of teas. Midcity location is right on the streetcar line that includes plenty of eateries, and there is plenty of shopping nearby by car. Service was a masterclass in hospitality. Bravo to Ms. Monica, Ms. Dee, Ms. Rosa, and Mr. Jason, and whomever I may have missed! This is now my relaxing home away from home when in New Orleans.

I would highly recommend the Canal Street Inn to anyone visiting New Orleans. The location in Mid-City is off the beaten path and allowed us to explore an area less frequented by tourists. Its location also gave us easy access to the streetcar to explore the city. Monica and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious!

We will definitely be back! This was such an incredible stay that we were discussing our return the first day! The breakfast was phenomenal and the hostess and staff were so warm and friendly. We felt like we were at home away from home. Prime location to boot. Honestly just an overall beautiful place to stay.

We reserved the entire house for three days for our wedding. The space has so much charm, it's warm and inviting. The gardens are gorgeous and perfect for an intimate ceremony. You can tell Monica, the owner, has put a lot of work into the Inn. She's very passionate about the property and has built a beautiful space. Between her and the wedding coordinator, Kristen at PK Events, our celebrate was just magnificent.
Staff was so accommodating and kind. We primarily worked with Dee, who was just amazing, very helpful, a lovely person. Any time we had a question or problem, she was quick to find a solution.
All of our guests raved about the breakfast, their rooms, and the inn's antique charm. We were so happy to have found this gem, it made for a perfect day. We're planning on coming back in the future for anniversaries.

We rented the full Inn plus the apartment suite for our wedding party for our October Wedding and it was the perfect spot. This place was exactly what we needed and we also had a great rehearsal dinner there the day before the wedding. Each of the rooms have their own charm, very clean, and have the New Orleans feel. Our getting ready photos for the wedding were taken at the Inn and there are some many great spots for photos. Breakfast each morning was great. Monica and staff did a phenomenal job during our stay.

We booked about one year in advance and throughout that time had some communication issues with payment details and rehearsal dinner organization. Everything in the end worked out, but sometimes promptness in communication was what was lacking. It would have been a bit easier if we lived in New Orleans to straighten out details in person prior to arrival.

My husband and I definitely recommend The Canal St Inn for any wedding group. 10/10 recommend staying in the apartment suite. It was the perfect place for me and the bridesmaids to get ready while the groomsmen got ready separately in the Inn. Also would recommend for any kind of stay in NOLA. Thank you again Canal St Inn!

Canal Street In is a lovely quiet haven in the hustle and bustle of New Orleans. The rooms are extremely well appointed, clean and comfortable. The proprietors cook a different delicious hot breakfast each morning to start your day off right, and you can hop on the street car right out front. The building itself is so pretty, a restored historic home. I can’t say enough good things! This is where we will stay in NOLA from now on!

This place was fantastic. This was my wife and I's first time in New Orleans and we were so glad we stayed there. The room was great, the hospitality was top notch, and the food was amazing. I will definitely come back. If you plan on staying at the Inn, definitely check out Katie's and many of the other great restaurants conveniently located close to the Inn!

Prime location just outside of the bustling French Quarter/Warehouse district with simple access to these areas via streetcar or public bike shares that can be accessed a short distance up the road at Walgreens (currently).
The hostess was super accommodating and professional; you can tell she cares about your experience at the inn just as much as her and her staff care about the immaculate condition of the inn itself. The building is gorgeous and tastefully decorated with several original pieces you could get lost in (Mariposa tree with daisies in the dining room is ????????). There are games, a selection of books by local authors or New Orleans specific lore and history; there is a beautiful garden to relax in; ample parking; a lounge area upstairs and a small gym in the basement level. Breakfasts are excellent (all start with a fruit parfait and self served coffee, water or juice: we had a Sunday breakfast with french toast, bacon and mimosas, and a toast with garlic aioli, tomato, avocado and bacon flat faced sandwich) and set you off on the right foot for the day. When we couldn't make it to breakfast one morning, a personalized bagged breakfast was made for us to take with for the day.
Overall, finding a place to stay in New Orleans was the hardest part of booking the trip in Louisiana. There is a lot of noise out there, but we're lucky and thankful to have landed on this place to stay.

Til next time!

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. The inn is a beautifully restored 1912 home on Canal Street. The furnishings are well-suited for the inn and the parlour is inviting. Breakfast is out of the this world. Every breakfast is a different culinary delight - starting always with a fresh fruit salad, followed by the "main course" (the spanish tortilla (potato and egg casserole) was my favorite), and with a dessert grand finale (no really! A breakfast dessert!). The breakfast itself could be the main draw to this place. We stayed in the Canal Street King, which was the room on the 2nd floor facing Canal Street. The room was quiet in spite of being facing a major thoroughfare. The bed was comfortable and had quality linens. The floor was squeaky, but what do you expect from 120 year old house?
I feel like I should write a whole paragraph about the innkeeper, Julia. Julia served us breakfast every morning with a smile, "Good Morning, Loves!". She inquired about our sleep, made sure breakfast was amazing and addressed any questions we had. She spent alot of time giving us information about navigating NOLA, places to eat, what to watch out for. She was patient with her guests and honestly seemed to absolutely love her job and the house. I was just sad that we didn't get to say goodbye to her.

I cannot say enough good things about the Canal Street Inn. It's a beautiful historic home in a very central location. The place is clean and well appointed. We loved our room. Julia met us upon arrival and made us feel right at home. She showed us around and explained everything. I am originally from New Orleans and travel back often to enjoy the city and old friends and relatives. I know my way around and have stayed in most areas of the city over the years. I am so happy I finally tried the Canal Street Inn and it has now become my favorite. By the way, Mandina's is one of the best restaurants in New Orleans and it's a 2 minute walk from the Inn. Enjoy!

A year ahead of our wedding, we travelled to New Orleans (from Houston, TX) in search of a venue. We toured numerous locations, none of which were quite what we were looking for, that is until we found The Canal Street Inn!

We were thrilled with the venue, especially as we learned of the wedding packages available to us (by PK Events), consequently making our destination wedding planning so much for manageable. We met with Monica Ramsey (Owner/Manager of The Canal Street Inn) and Kristen Rauch, of PK Events during that trip and very quickly felt confident that our event would be a success, and that Monica, and her team would take care of every little detail for us, and they did!

Our wedding was smallish, 40 guests all told and of those 40 guests, more than half (including us) stayed at the inn. We decided to book the entire inn (11 rooms) knowing that having those important people close by during our wedding weekend would make it that much more special! The Inn felt like our home for the duration, and I know that this is what the staff at the Canal Street Inn wanted. We felt welcome, comfortable and relaxed during our stay and so did all of our guests.

The biggest challenge for us was relinquishing all responsibility and having someone else handle the details, but we’re so pleased that we did, and we need not have been concerned at all. Food, accommodation and Wedding Ceremony and reception was impeccably handled, down to every last little lovely detail! The Canal Street Inn team was amazing from beginning to end; we highly recommend this venue to anyone planning a New Orleans wedding. Monica (Owner/Manager), Julia (Inn Keeper) Judy (Chef), thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your passion, your dedication and your creativity. All of you played a major part in making our wedding weekend and wedding day personal, unique and unforgettable!

Julia and the rest of the staff were so accomodating and friendly! The breakfasts were delicious and the room was comfortable. Great, personal service! Conveniently the streetcar runs out front on Canal Street.

Our stay at the Canal Street Inn was wonderful. Everything was absolutely perfect. When entering the Inn you are wowed by the antiques and decorations. The parlor is a beautiful place to relax with a book and drink. The breakfast area seats about a dozen guests in royal style. Without question, the Canal Street Inn is a first class establishment.
Our Prytania King Suite was a spacious unit with so much charm. With 15-feet high ceilings, period woodwork, flooring and a fireplace, we were transported back in time. The king-sized bed was comfy and the bathroom was fitted with two sinks and a modern glass shower.
Monica, the Inn’s manager, attends to every detail. The in-house breakfast chef, Julie, makes the most deliciously creative three course breakfasts.
We must share this story with you. During our stay the New Orleans area experienced a fierce storm. Fearing that we might be out of power, Monica and Julie brought us flashlights and made us peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for our dinner. Although it was not a good night to go out, we had a memorable time sipping wine and enjoying our PB& Js! Luckily, the power stayed on.

Very beautiful bed and breakfast. Entire place was very clean, staff was very welcoming. Quite and very peaceful location. Would like to give five stars however they do not do refunds, I understand my short notice and we even agreed to pay for the first night if they would refund two nights, but they would not. ( they did offer a two night voucher for later dates which would not have been used unless I gave them as a gift) It was a very busy weekend for New Orleans and they easily could have booked the room as everything else was booked up. The bed was very comfortable but also very squeaky. Every time you roll over, move a little bit, or get in and out of bed it squeaked. You have no control over the temperature in the room, luckily we found a fan in the closet or it would have been impossible to sleep it was so warm. There is a nice jacuzzi tub in the room but only a couple of the jets work and we ran out of hot water before we could fill it up. No one came to service our room. They have a mini fridge full of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks for purchase so there isn’t any room to put your own stuff in there. And to top it off when we arrived my husband went to check us in and I waited in the car in the back parking lot for about five minutes. Let’s just call her Karen next door came and stuck her head over the six foot privacy fence to tell me to shut my car off because it was bothering her. I won’t go into the rest of that story.

First time staying at a bed and breakfast in New Orleans. Julia was amazing. She was very cordial and helpful. She made me and my wife feel special. It was my 49th Birthday and she made it special. She is amazing at her job. Never forgot our names and was welcoming. One of a kind. Totally recommend this bed and breakfast.
