MONTELEONE HOTEL
Antonio Monteleone was an Italian immigrant who bought the hotel in 1888. Quickly this 573-room hotel, including a presidential suite, became the place to go down for a trip to the south. So, Ernest Hemingway, Truman Condom and so many others. It was the first hotel in the French Quarter to be air conditioned. It would always be the Monteleone family that would run. Don't miss the rotary bar, the Carrousel Lounge. To stay competitive, the hotel shared some rooms to make two or three. The rooms are small and the view not always pleasant, the Monteleone is very well located.
