If you're looking for lodgings with a ton of character and close to everything look no futher.

Loved the charm of this small old hotel. Balcony was great, beds comfortable, staff was friendly. My only suggestions please get 2 ply toilet paper and suggest more parking options. The lot across from hotel parking garage was a 15 minute walk and not easy to find. May have been the cheaper option. But at my age I will pay the extra for my vehicle to be three blocks. It's the French Quarter parking is not cheap we get that.

Despite multiple attempts to look around and see if there is somewhere we'd rather stay, my partner and I can't seem to find a better spot than Hotel Villa Convento. Every room in this historic guesthouse is cozy and the location is so hard to beat. We have stayed in about every size room by now and even the smallest ones comfortably accommodate a couple. Darron, Warren, and the rest of the wonderful staff have gone out of their way multiple times to make sure my stay was exactly what I needed. (NOTE: Be sure to book directly through them! They actually offer a discount for reserving through them directly and as such I've never found a better deal on third-party websites)

Free parking is about a ten minute walk and the courtyard is cute but that’s about it. There were patches on the walls that had been patched and not painted, holes in the chairs, the toilet sits on a pretty severe angle and my knees touched the tub when I used it. The stairs are shaky and the elevator makes you feel like it’s going to plummet to the floor when it’s used. Our room key quit working twice. The first time was after the office was closed and there’s no way to contact anyone unless you have a specific number which was locked in my hotel room. We got a second room key which I checked before leaving and when we went back to get our belongings, the new room key didn’t work again. They blamed us for what has to be an issue with their system or the door lock itself.

My best friend and I stayed last weekend. The location was great, the hotel is unique and interesting and the guy who checked us in at the front desk was adorable and friendly. We got the Jimmy Buffet loft room and while the room itself was interesting and unique, the king sized bed was pretty awful. I’m pretty sure it’s the actual mattress Jimmy slept on when he lived here. It sunk in, all the way down to the frame and my back was really sore the rest of the trip. We ended up sleeping in the twin beds in the loft the last two nights which were better, so I’m grateful we had other options and weren’t stuck with the king mattress. The bathroom was pretty off putting too, as the tile floor and tub would sink when stepped on. The sub floor is in need of repair.

Other than that, we loved our stay and had a great time.

Lovely place, great location near the historic convent of the Ursuline Nuns. The staff was friendly and happy to chat, and the courtyard was a great place to relax. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here if you have the opportunity.

Booked a balcony room several months in advance - looked at reviews was hesitating due to some pretty bad reviews previously however decided to go ahead and give this place a chance. WRONG- believe the bad reviews folks! Our room was not only tiny ( no big deal - we aren’t here to sit around in the hotel room anyways) but it’s absolutely filthy! The fiberglass shower has been broke /patched, trim is filthy, floor in bathroom is gross- the tile is grimy, behind the toilet hasn’t been touched. The entire room needed a new paint job. One wall appears to have been “plastered” except they forgot to finish the wall and there’s a huge gap where the wall meets the trim and you can see inside the wall. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Only giving this place two stars because the location is absolutely fantastic and the balcony is amazing! Otherwise if you aren’t staying here for the balcony - there is zero reason to stay here. Find better! I approached the front desk and asked for another room to which they stated they did not have. See attached photos. The entire place could be amazing but needs a major facelift and some love! We tried giving this hotel grace as it is old- however any other hotel - if you walked in and it looked like this - you’d turn around and walk back out.

This place is in a fantastic location. Really close to a lot of great hot spots. The room I had was a little more rustic than I was hoping for. Specifically, the bathroom may be ready for an upgrade. There was also issues with the hot water as there hardly was any. For the price, I was hoping for a little more.

We had a small hiccup with the first room we went into, but the situation was quickly taken care of and we were given a different room. The gentleman at the front desk helped us quickly and made sure we were well taken care of. The hotel is very charming and really added the the experience of staying in the French Quarter. We originally booked through a second party site and be aware that if you do this, it states that they have parking, while there is parking, it is limited and not right by the hotel. We got lucky enough to get a spot to park and had zero issues with the garage being a short walk away. The hotel does state this on their actual website, but the second party sites do not. The courtyard was beautiful, especially at night. Overall, it was a good experience and honestly if I ever make my way back to NOLA, I'd stay here again :)

I loved staying here. We stayed for 4 nights. Couldn’t ask for a better location. The guy at the front desk was awesome and check in was easy. The elevator made us chuckle every time. The room was clean and was thankful to have a refrigerator. As for haunted, I would say yes. We had some unexplainable and strange incidents. We do some amateur ghost hunting and have a few gadgets. We got some EVP’s, lots of orbs and strange noises IN THE room that actually woke me several times. We got lucky with parking. Had parking right on Chartres St. Loved having the little breakfast spot across the street from the hotel. We come to New Orleans often and so far this is my favorite place to stay. Not fancy. Very home feeling. Will definitely stay here again.

2 Blocks short blocks from Decatur St. and the French Market one way, and 3 blocks from Bourbon St. Great Courtyard and a very historical location. I can't say enough about the staff - the front desk and daily cleaning staff.

Nice staff ,cleaned room when we were gone ,didn't wake us up we slept late every day.Quaint ,cozy ,highly recommend if you are looking for the full French quarter experience, would come back.My wife and I loved the atmosphere at Hotel Villa Conveto. Our flight was much later than check out ,they let us store our bags and arranged a cab for us even though we had checked out already. A really neat spot two thumbs up.

We stayed here and it was our best coice. Following are the reasons. 1. Perfect location. Not so noisy but still has good access to great bars and restuarants. 2. Free parking. We drove to NOLA so we had to find a place to park. Based on our research, a majority of hotels required $40 per day for overnight parking. Here, although first-come first-serve, there are parking spots which are protected well in a parking garage. 3. Friendly staff and service. The staff was super friendly and chill. Check out was 12, and very quick check in process, and actually we were able to do early check in. We also used a 10% discount coupon at Oceana provided from the hotel and that was also helpful. 4. Reasonable facility. Although, the hotel rooms were not the cleaniest, the bed was clean enough (no bedbug issue), and the price was very reasonable considering the room status.

Hotel Villa Convento is my favorite place to stay in the French Quarter. The staff is amazing. The rooms are quaint and simple and there's always free coffee in the lobby. The family owned hotel is my favorite and they make you feel like home. It is rumored to be the House of the Rising Sun and sometimes, if you're lucky, the supernatural will visit and have some fun.

Super süßes Hotel, tolles Zimmer, gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Leider waren wir nur für eine Nacht da. Etwas Renovierungsbedarf, leicht in die Jahre gekommen.

This was our second time to NOLA and we are return guests to Villa Convento. We also brought friends. The rooms are very clean, well maintained and comfortable for such an historic building. Mostly everything we cared to do was in walking distance. This is the perfect place for people who want to be immersed in the French Quarter, but not directly down on Burbon Street--quiet, but within easy walking distance of lots of history and night life.

It was just what we wanted!! Not the Hilton but a perfect match for the French quarter. Sitting on our balcony tours passed by with us on the schedule as the House of the Rising Sun!! All is walking distance, across the street the Croissant D ore best French bakery in town and the Haunted Hotel !
Good rates direct book it!
