Located on Royal Street, one of the most exciting streets in the French Quarter, Andrew Jackson Hotel - named after the seventh president of the United States and hero of the Battle of New Orleans - is at the heart of the action. The rooms are beautiful, the hotel is co-located, with its interior courtyard where a fountain, and its colorful walls. Some rooms have a balcony overlooking the street, in order to impregnate the city.

We had an AMAZING experience at this hotel. The service was phenomenal, the staff was extremely friendly and communicative. The rooms were beautiful and cozy. This place is a perfect location for exploring the French Quarter and all it has to offer!

As for the spooky side, we believe this place is absolutely haunted. We did a ghost hunt with Gators & Ghosts in the back house, and captured some amazing evidence with them. In our room, we had sheets being tugged off of us, drawers opened, stuff moved, and heard footsteps all over our room. If you are into the paranormal, this is a great place to stay!

My daughter and I stayed here on January 6,2024 our stay was supposed to be for 2 nights but with bad weather coming in and possible flooding we Decided to check out later Sunday afternoon to head home . I called the hotel to arrange my vehicle to be brought back for checkout . The guy working the desk called me within just a small amount of time and told me my vehicle was back for departure. My daughter and I were right around the corner when we walked up three men where standing there staring at us and something to me didn’t seem right ! The young guy that had been working the desk said Mrs. Collins your vehicle has been in a wreck ! I said what ?? As he was going to say tell me more , the manager Shane Sullivan told the young kid to shut up and go back inside ! ( He did ) there was a very nice guy that was standing there and begin telling me how the man driving my vehicle hit him on down in the French quarter and jumped out pushed his front fender on his car 2024 Chevrolet corvette in and said I’m sorry I’m sorry then got back in my vehicle and continued to drive . The driver of the corvette followed him to the hotel to confront him and see who and what was gonna happen. This is where we had just walked up soon after . Shane wrote down a statement and my daughter and I called the police to document what had taken place and Shane assured us the hotel would pay the damages to my vehicle , that he knew it was not my fault. When my daughter and I got in my vehicle to leave my daughter noticed 2 glass marbles in the passenger side door that does not belong to us , I then looked at my mileage and had more miles on my vehicle then were on it and I had just filled up not far out of New Orleans before arriving like I always do and it now had a half a tank . My daughter and I went back inside to confront them of the marbles and mileage and Miles and they both were very nervous acting . Shane had given me his phone number and told me to call him as soon as we got the estimate on my vehicle. I went on Monday and did that the estimate is totaled at $2219.09 on damage not including gas and mileage and we have left several messages and he will not call us and we have left several to try to get this resolved before hiring a lawyer . The hotel will not give us the owners name or number so if you get this ( the owner) please get my number from Shane and let me hear back from you . Also the guy that was driving my vehicle is a convicted sex offender to top it off .

Let's start with the positives!

- Great location, I mean we walked everywhere, the only time we had to take a Lyft or an Uber was when we were going to and from the airport.

- The Service, everyone was super friendly and asked us if we needed anything.

- Historic, if you want to feel like you are staying somewhere with a historical significance, i would categorize this hotel as one.

- Value, compared to other hotels, we only paid about $750 for four nights.

The Negatives

- It's old, I mean it just it what it is, doesn't look like they've done any remolding and have tried to keep the structures about the same, so don't expect luxury or anything out of the rooms.

- Cleanliness, I personally saw two bugs, they looked like tiny roaches, one in the shower and one on the bed when we arrived, it was not pleasant. My husband saw in total five, but thankfully spared me from the knowledge. Plus there were two mosquitos. I'm not really sure if there is anything that the staff can do better about this, it might just have to do with the hotel's structure, the door kind of has slits where I imagine small bugs can creep in from the outside and we were on the first floor. What can you really do?

Overall I would rate this 4 stars, because I just don't really know how the staff would be able to improve the cleanliness of the hotel or change the rooms to make them look nicer. Plus i mean you really cannot beat the location.

Would I stay here again or recommend this hotel? Honestly no, I wouldn't, I would just try to stay somewhere else in the French Quarter and hope I wouldn't have the same problems.

Looks nothing like website pictures. Small rooms, very few outlets. Toilet handle was broken and my husband had to fix it. Employees couldn't care less about their jobs or customer service.
