Go visit this place! The cocktails were perfection and the staff is friendly and helpful when inquiring about the Garden District and the building itself. We only stopped in for a cocktail and to see the beautiful interior. This is a perfect spot for a pre-date beverage! I've been told the food is excellent as well, we'll check that out next time!
We had our reception at the Columns Hotel and it was magical. This place is everything we could have dreamed of and more for our day. Rachel was so great with working with our budget and figuring out what we can do to still make the day so special for our intimate dinner. The day we arrived we were greeted with drinks and just the best hospitality. Our friends and family are STILL talking about how great everyone that worked there was that helped make our day possible.
I love getting to follow their Instagram for event updates because I’m just truly in love with everything they do. It’s such a cool space and Caleb and I are already talking about coming back here for future anniversaries.
Thank you Rachel and everyone at the Columns for making us feel so special and celebrated.
Had a wonderful stay at The Columns and highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were a bit on the smaller size, but they did a great job keeping the historical features of the property and the high ceilings and natural light made it feel much bigger, and ended up being perfect for 2. The bed was super comfortable and the shower soaps and shampoos were high-end. The staff was super polite and being right on the streetcar allowed for easy access into the city. Thanks again, and hope to be back soon for a burger and beverage on the patio!
I husband and I would always pass this place and say one day we are going in. I brought him there for his birthday happy hour, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the service.
Really fun location and beautiful building. Food was tasty but small portions. I’d def come back. It’s nice bc it’s outside of tourist zone so more of a locals place. Highly recommend.
First time here. Stopped in for cocktails. Atmosphere is great. True old New Orleans charm. Bartenders were friendly and truly made the experience. Friendly, talkative and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back and will consider staying here on the next NO trip.
Update several years later. Still a must visit if you travel to NO. The charm cannot be beat.
If you want to feel the real New Orleans, this is your spot. Southern hospitality at its finest, with impeccable food, maybe slightly haunted (in a great way), and the most incredible staff. You’re doing Nola the wrong way if you do not stay here.
My daughter was married here this week. The arrangements were outstanding. The service was perfect. The staff didn't miss A beat on anything they needed to do. Everyone was happy, including my daughter who was well-cared-for throughout the evening. We spent the afternoon getting ready upstairs in a beautiful atmosphere. And the rest of the night enjoying ourselves without a care. Thank you To The Columns!
I celebrated my birthday with my friends at the Columns and I CANNOT recommend it enough. The hotel was GORGEOUS, right in the middle of New Orleans and next to the streetcar for easy access. The outside was lovely and perfect for photos but I was floored by how eccentric and lavish the inside was. The food was amazing and they celebrate birthdays EXTREMELY well (complementary wine and dessert). Would 10/10 recommend. Thank you Columns for an amazing birthday, I will be back.
Got married here and rented out all of the rooms. They were all different, charming and the perfect setting for our weekend. Great staff, easy to work with. Nothing like getting married on the front steps of The Columns in March!
Great atmosphere!!!
You can tell it's a locals lace which I like. We walked over from our Airbnb - just minutes walk from Prytania.
Just ordered drinks and a few appetizers… A wonderful evening and we will definitely be back. Server was super and attentive. Loved it!
Ruined my birthday but hey!
After planning in advance with their "Event Planner", Rachel, I showed up and they decided to give my whole reservation/room to another party that showed up before my reserved time.
They did nothing to make it right and I ended up paying more for it. It's sad because I've always loved the Columns but now it's forever tarnished after ruining my birthday.
We held our company dinner with our channel partners here. The atmosphere, food, drinks, and service were top notch. Absolutely amazing, I highly recommend.
STUNNING property, gorgeously maintained. This is what a historic hotel should look like. Friendly staff, wonderful classic cocktails, delicious food options from a thoughtful menu. Streetcar stop directly out front. Short stroll to other cocktails & restaurants along St Charles.
Shout out to Joseph & Lauralea for taking care of us! We will absolutely be back.
We didn’t stay here, but had a fabulous time at the bar. We had a group of about 30, and kind of took over the bar area, and the staff (and drinks!) were spectacular. Patrick, in particular, was an exceptional bartender and made me what was probably the best old fashioned I’ve ever had. Oh, and try his Manhattan!
We stayed here over Christmas and it was so great. Upon arrival we were treated to a Pimms Cup and shown our room. Our room was huge and beautiful and worth the upgrade knowing that we wanted to really indulge on this trip. The hotel is such a vibe.
Hotel: So well done but does not feel over done of that makes sense. We actually spent more time at this hotel than any other one that we stayed at. Upon entering the room they had a cute vintage like radio playing the local Jazz station and we listened to it the entire time. A complimentary bottle of wine and two bottles of mineral water. The bed was huge and comfortable and the room was cleaned every day. The room had a massive with a claw foot tube and huge bathroom. There is a porch right outside for guests only and can get loud if guests are out there late night and maybe not so private we used our shoes to keep the shutters shut. The room we were in was next to the street so can be loud with the streetcars.(I always bring ear plugs) The room next to us had their TV so loud it sounded like it was on surround sound all night long. These were the only downfalls of the room. There is free coffee in the coffee bar in the morning but tea is not included and kind of expensive. However it was the best cup of tea I have ever had.
We had Christmas brunch and it was so good. The firepits outside are so nice to have at happy hour. The place is popping at happy hour but you can see why. We played pool in the pool, drank drinks by the fire, watched the streetcars go by over morning coffee, took naps with the windows open. Just totally enjoyed. All of the guests and customers were so nice.
The only thing I wish is that they. had maybe a place to fill a water bottle somewhere for guests.
Location: GREAT! We walked all over the garden district, went to the french quarter one time and were so over stimulated, came back to the hotel that felt like home. Loved all of the restaurants and shops on magazine street (20 min walk) Felt safe a night. Loved the char grilled oysters at Superior Seafood before we went out one night.
Would stay here again for sure. I want to check out some of their other properties next time. They are doing a great job.
