This is the first time we've stayed here and love it. Love the historic feel, rooms are clean, close to Bourbon Street. My next time back to NOLA, I will be staying here.

Stayed in this place a few nights despite some of the negative reviews. Frankly I’m not sure what they were talking about. We stayed in the house across the street from the main building our room was nice and clean and private. Hotel staff was courteous as well, and the bar across the street is nice. Perfect location for the French quarter, as it’s far enough away to be quiet but not so far it’s a long or sketchy walk back at night. Obviously it’s not the Ritz but it’s not nearly as expensive. I’d have no qualms about staying here again.
Only complaint for me is that I didn’t know or think about the parking being extra and it was $40 a day I believe. Not a big deal but something you might need to budget for

We asked for a room with a balcony.. got a room with a balcony, but no way to access it. All we had was a window that did not open. Bed were very uncomfortable. And to top it off only one elevator was working. Did get much help from front desk.

The parking attendant was exceptional, the rest of the service was average

Stayed in the Hermann House for a few nights, and we absolutely loved it. The staff was terrific, and the location was perfect for all of our walking plans while in the French Quarter. I highly recommend the Dauphine if you want to be close to it all!

Beautiful, historic hotel in the French Quarter. The hotel itself is a wonderful place.
It is a century-old building without weather- or soundproofing, so be cautious about staying here during Mardi Gras, spring break, or particularly cold weather.

Also a nice stay. We miss seeing Jessica. She always has a smile and a wonderful attitude.

Rooms are fine and the location is central to the French Quarter. Not a hotel to stay in if you want sleep. The thin walls and windows mean you hear everything from music to cellphone conversations to Earth shattering loud trucks that seem to arrive at 5.30am every night.

Rooms could us me a serious upgrade and cleaning.

Great location if you're looking to explore the French quarter and want to walk. One block over from Bourbon Street and surrounded by great bars and restaurants!

The pictures on the website are EXTREMELY misleading. This place looks a lot nicer than it actually is. We did not stay in the main house but got the deluxe double bed room. It was extremely basic and comparable to a cheaper hotel room. There were a lot of little things that could simply be fixed or cleaned that would make this place look overall better. Like the nasty dust filled vents, the dirty baseboards and we didn't even have a dresser (only very very small pull out drawers) for a room that sleeps 4 people. The best part about our room was the balcony with the city view. Parking is $50 a day and the website fails to mention this anywhere. The staff was friendly and the location is GREAT! Walking distance from a lot of things. After the initial shock and disappointment from the pictures online vs in person, overall our stay was still good. My mom says she would stay here again but I think I would pay a little more for something nicer.

Can't ask for a better location. One block to Bourbon Street, but a whole lot quieter. Clean rooms with a lovely bar attached, lovely ghost stories and a salacious history, and it's very reasonably priced for the location.

We had a wonderful stay! Room was great everything was clean and in working order! Staff was friendly and accommodating! I do miss the pre covid service though. Welcome drink and breakfast are gone now. I have seen other reviews of this hotel and not sure what happened but I have always had good service clean rooms and comfy accommodations here. For the price and location you cant beat it!

Dishonest and disorganized. Despite numerous reminders, they did not return the deposit left to guarantee the room. Avoid!

Pros:
It's close to the action. You can pretty much walk to everything. 2 blocks from Bourbon Street.

Cons: Had a King bed with a cute balcony overlooking the garage.. couldn't sleep ALL night. So, so loud!!!
Moved to another room. Two Queens this time.. air conditioning doesn't work, shower is nasty.. beds were comfortable though. You can hear some type of industrial elevator from 9pm to 9am.. it's loud.

Both rooms the fire alarm blinks a crazy light all night long.

When it rains.. it rains INSIDE the elevator. What!?
Sometimes the elevator doesn't work.. it's an adventure.

Location, location, location is the best thing about staying here.

The dauphine Orleans is a hotel in the French quarter. It is a block away from bourbon street and a 5 minute walk from Jackson square thus is centrally located. We stayed in superior king room in the main house. It is a large room with a sitting area.

I booked this hotel for 3 nights after Mardi Gras, after initially staying elsewhere with friends but wanting to extend my stay solo. I wanted something still conveniently located in the French Quarter, with easy walking to restaurants and bars but not as expensive. While the Dauphine Orleans fit the bill for location and price (only low $200s per night instead of $300+), it was a massive letdown in all other respects. The pictures on the website look like a completely different hotel from the one I saw. The hallway carpets were dingy and water damaged. Random emergency lights were on in my hallway. The ice machine was turned off and tilted backward and to the right at an odd angle. From all I saw of the property, everywhere (except the lobby) seemed to have a dingy, grimy feel to it, like a good deep cleaning (and fresh paint and new carpet) is years overdue; this wasn't just a situation where they had a busy Mardi Gras weekend and a couple things fell through the cracks but rather seems like years of neglect. (Oh, and I should add that, for some unknown reason, members of the staff think that 2 or 3 A.M. is a good time to roll large, empty dumpsters across the interior parking area courtyard, directly below many guest rooms. Take a guess what THAT sounds like and how it affects sleep quality.)

My first room was missing its safe key (no digital-lock safes here!) and someone had damaged the bathtub spigot. So they switched me to a second room (the next day, after I had to circle back to talk to the same person who checked me in and took my initial complaints, because the morning shift staff never bothered to get back to me after I talked to them, too). The second room seemed a bit cleaner, but had no phone and a damaged shower head that now had only one setting: pour out directly downward. The only saving grace to the whole experience was the patient and kind young woman who helped me at check in and then with the room switch.

Overall, I simply can't recommend this hotel. Yes, the location is great and (some of) the staff are terrific, but the property itself is in desperate need of a refresh or makeover and a lot more routine TLC.
