If I can give 1/2 a star I would. If they offered here for free I would not do it. The people staying here were questionable.. It may not be a bad place for others but I rather pay more money and feel safe and have a clean place to stay.
La peor experiencia es lo más desagradable que ay ésto ya lo viera serrado la ciudad las camas todas viejas malas y las sábanas todas manchadas un mal olor que no se aguanta la verdad no lo recomiendo
It's the most basic of your basic accommodations. A place to sleep and store the luggage, at a great price (stayed four nights here for the cost of one anywhere else this close to the French Quarter.) Friendly staff. Clean enough. Free parking. Paid the deposit, got it back. Was surprisingly quiet and far less shady overall than I expected from other reviews.
Awesome location - short walk to most of the places I frequent when in town. Area isn't any more dangerous than anywhere else in the city (your results may vary, basic street smarts apply.)
For the price/location I'd stay here again without hesitation.
***Update - and I have! Still dig it.
Yelp it. I would not have paid $40 a night for a room here if it was on the moon. Whoever owns this property knows they are ripping people off because of the proximity to the French quarter. Disgustingly unmaintained, falsely advertised. This is a trap house wanting to be a hotel managed by a people hating bed bug. Don't believe me though... go see for yourself.
Living and working in vegas, you would think you've seen it all. I'm not a picky person. I don't complain coming from a hospitality industry. But I was on a budget and thought this would have been fine. But this is the worst place I have even stayed in. The front desk agents were understanding. But the room was beyond filthy. The fact that you have to ask for toilet paper should tell you enough about the hotel. Not only is the place completely out dated, but the shower had missing knobs, the shower curtain was falling apart, the comforter had cigarette burn marks. 2 roaches came across my feet. I can go on. I was scared to even sit on the bed. The location was shady as heck as well. This place should be condemned and closed permanently!
I'm ashamed to say that I stayed at this place a couple years ago as a last resort for an event and it was disgusting. I'm surprised it's still open because it should be condemned and shut down. One last thing don't take those five star reviews seriously they're probably a bunch of people with bogus accounts who work there or are friends of the people that work there because this place is like a crack house. About the only thing convenient was the location but I would have rather slept in my car if I had a chance to do it over again.
Worst hotel I've ever seen. Had roaches. Had mold in the bedframe. The air-conditioning didn't work. When I went to sleep I woke up to a rat on my back. Honestly a traumatic experience. Hope this place gets shut down. Called owner and she doesn't even check the rooms to make sure employees do their jobs.
Quaint hotel, balcony access and free WiFi and coffee in the AM, beautiful plants surround the hotel friendly but professional staff, security conscious, free parking
The experience that I have over there we clean up for them our name of our services lil lisa & sexybaby cleaning service so over there is pretty just one person of me going one place where you can get some peace and quiet and some get away from all the rest of the world
Awful all around. Went in with low hopes but gave it a shot because I'm familiar with Treme, and was disgusted still.
Staff was frazzled (but nice) when I showed up with a reservation and presumably no record of my booking.
My room door would not shut all the way, making locking difficult.
Missing and broken tiles everywhere on the floor and bathroom walls.
Bathroom sink dripped incessantly.
Toilet wasn't attached to the floor and the flooring around it was mostly deteriorated away.
The A/C wouldn't blow cool air and the power cable was visibly cut in half and VERY poorly spliced together.
The smell was atrocious - urine, cigarettes, and pesticides.
Everything was filthy and riddled with bugs and mouse droppings.
The fitted sheet on the bed was covered in plastic and had bed bugs.
The most frustrating thing is I was nothing but respectful and I won't see a penny back after only being in the room for a few minutes.
Embarrassed that I thought it was worth checking out without reading more. The place needs to be shut down.
Very old and ruggedly place . People are nice but the building is old, ac does not blow cold air , very uncomfortable and ne small bed. Overall, not acceptable at all . I checked out within hours. And I was partially refundable for my money for a hotel that should not have existed . I would not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting.
I've stayed there many, many times when I worked for Delta Queen Steamboat Company. It is not ideal for most, but you have to remember New Orleans doesn't sleep. They are a 24 hour city and you pretty much looking for a place to shower, sleep and store your luggage. Very basic rooms, but that is all you need. Because you will not be sitting around doing nothing in NOLA!!! Miss you, someday I'll be back..
