PROs:
- The location is fantastic. Right in the middle between the French Quarter and the Garden District. It is within walking distance of everything and so close to public transportation.
- The area is very safe and secure.
- I had a safe place to rest my head and for that I was thankful.
- The staff is generally very helpful and kind.
CONs:
- I had booked RIVERVIEW but wasn’t given this initially. After talking to the front desk, she changed my cityview to “river view”.. not much of a river view though, but it did overlook the pool, which was nice.
- My experience with the front desk was 50/50. Some were very kind and helpful, others seemed like they didn’t want to be there.
- The hallways have a slight wet smell to them. You get used to it.. It’s not horrendous, but it’s apparent.
- I was disappointed by the maid service. My bed was made with garbage left on my bed. My new towels were poorly folded, so I ended up refolding them.
- I’m a little confused by the WIFI. I connected to their “Conference” wifi but not their Meridien Guest Wifi. It seems that if I couldnt connect to the “Conference” wifi, then I would have had to pay extra.
- When opening the front door to most rooms, its extremely tight with bathroom and front closet in the way. Not a huge deal, but can be annoying when staying for a long period time. I got caught in it a couple of times.
- Full length mirror is blocked by the bed.
I enjoyed my time here and again, I am very thankful to have had a place to rest at night. Though truthfully, if I return to New Orleans, I’ll probably try looking at other hotels.
