***Bed bugs!!***
If I could rate this place a zero I would. Immediately encountered rude employees at the valet. They were telling us we needed to tip them before we even unloaded our car. We went to our room and found bed bugs. When talking to the front desk the employee vivak didn’t even seem surprised. He offered a new room while another employee was muttering under her breath about us. The new room was covered in stains including gum stuck to the floor. Disgusting. The pool was poorly maintained with paint chipping off and bugs in the water. We were so off put we had to end our trip early. When checking out they then tried over charged us for parking. When we explained we hadn’t even been there a full 24hours the front desk worker a woman who’s name I didn’t catch rudely told us to take it up with the valet service because they’re separate party. That’s interesting because the parking was charged on our hotel room bill. Overall staff is incredibly rude and unwelcoming. The rooms are filthy despite the illusion presented by the lobby.

If you like musty, old, dirty rooms with 0 amenities, thin walls, and where they don’t change the sheets, then this is the hotel for you!

The worst beds I’ve ever seen in a hotel, they squeak like an air mattress when you just sit on them. Dark rooms, dirty tubs as showers. Awful amenities. Great location is all they had

I had a wonderful time at this hotel. The location was great, the corner of Canal and Boubon St. The front desk staff ladies were rude but the Bellman, Eric was awesome. Super helpful and made up for the rude ladies up front. He recommended Zesty Creole resturant and it didn't disappoint. Eric also helped us with taxi service in the pouring rain. I hope Crown Plaza treats him right because he made my experience at this hotel worth a review.

I was really looking forward to visiting this hotel, being I am a history junky, I loved the old school charm that it offers. When I arrived, I was not disappointed. The lobby welcomes you with a flashback in time as you walk through he nostalgic, old Southern decor. Lobby was clean and inviting, and so was the young lady who handled my check-in process. There is a lot of old brick work throughout the building, and it was gorgeous.

My smile turned upside down when I got to my room. I really would like to encourage them to focus on their cleaning processes, as my room was dirty. I shared photos so as to show I am not just being bougie... The shower head is gross with mildew buildup. The curtains, when opened, were falling off of their hooks. There are huge cobwebs hanging down the window, and my nightstand was not cleaned and had leftover residue from prior guests.
My work colleague actually had plumbing issues, and while she sat in the room, had a plumber come in and work on it versus getting her to a different room. Additionally, her fridge wasn't working, thus, they had to deliver another fridge to her as wellm

In addition to the cleanliness factor, my room faced the street. Thus, I recommend that if you do stay, ask to be moved if you get the same. It is extremely loud outside of your window. You get a first-hand jazz concert until around 2 a.m. followed by a bunch of drunk folks yelling as they leave at closing time, and then lastly followed by a loud machine (likely cleaning the sidewalks and streets) around 3 or 4 a.m. Not a restful time.

All in all, if they can work on their cleaning disparities and focus on the rooms, it would be a more enjoyable visit!
