Established in 1933, it is the oldest gay bar still in operation in the country. A must-see, once frequented by Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote. And if you feel cramped inside, take advantage of its balcony overlooking Bourbon on one side and Dumaine on the other. If you're wondering what Cafe Lafite In Exile has to do with Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, the former was originally located in the famous Blacksmith shop tavern. Forced to move, the owner named the new bar after his exile a few yards away.
