Southern Decadence closes out the summer in style as the French Quarter hosts its annual LGBTQ2+ community party.
This LGBTQ2+ event has taken place on Labor Day weekend since 1995 and marks the end of summer. It brings together all kinds of queens and takes place mainly on the streets of the French Quarter for five days straight, especially around Bourbon and St. Ann Streets, the epicenter of the gay village (outdoor concerts on Saturday). On Sunday, thousands of people march in costume through the French Quarter, following a route that passes the main gay bars (the theme changes every year).
