New Orleans celebrates the American national holiday in its own way, as a small festival. On the banks of the Mississippi River, in the Faubourg Marigny near the French Market district, the music is there in the late afternoon and evening. It all culminates in a traditional fireworks display around 9:00 p.m. (and it will be more or less beautiful depending on the humidity of the air). The national holiday is celebrated everywhere in Louisiana, of course. Any city will have a more or less popular attraction.
