Church very much rooted in the gospel community with a small grotto to the right, offering jazz masses on Sundays at 9:30 and 11:30.
Built in 1826 during the great yellow fever epidemic to bless the dead just before burning them, Our Lady of Guadeloupe Church is the oldest of its kind in New Orleans. Deeply rooted in the city's gospel community, it also offers jazz masses on Sundays at 9:30 and 11:30. In fact, music is an important part of every service. To the right of the church is a small grotto representing Our Lady of Lourdes.
