LAFAYETTE SQUARE
Square hosting various events such as free concerts on Wednesdays in the summer and a blues festival in the fall.
A small green space located in the heart of the Central Business District and a stone's throw from Gallier Hall, this square, originally called Gravel Square, took its new name after Lafayette's visit to New Orleans in 1825. For 150 years, the square has hosted inaugurations, annual pilgrimages of school bands and jazz performances. The square is still alive today with events such as free Wednesday concerts in the summer and a blues festival in the fall.
