Company proposing a visit to discover the workshops of manufacture of the floats of the city.

Visit the creative workshops of the city's largest carnival float manufacturing company. Almost all Mardi Gras floats are built by this company since 1947. The visit allows you to discover the warehouses where some of the oldest pieces are stored, to follow the history and the manufacture of the floats. The dozens and dozens of colorful figurines on display will give you an idea of what Mardi Gras madness is like for the locals. Note that a free shuttle service is offered to get there.

This was an amazing tour with a lot of interaction between the Mardi Gras Floats and their characters. The behind the scenes info and production facility was just great. If you ever come to N'awlins you have to visit the mardi gras world

the tour was interesting. of all the excursions we did on our LA/MS/AL/FL trip this was the only one we probably would not do again, simply based on the price. $86 for myself and three young ones to watch a short movie and walk through a warehouse with the props. it was great to see the props up close and in person. there were no artists or designers working during our tour so nothing really engaging. maybe it was just bad timing at the end of the day for when we took the tour.

Man. Man. Raised in NOLA, but military relocated us....in all of my years of visiting home- and now with my own kiddos in tow-had never visited. But WOW. My kids and I LOVED MARDI GRAS WORLD! A+. Something for my pre-teen and elementary kid. Did not disappoint. The Mardi Gras beads "admission tickets" were a nice welcoming touch.
The video was super informative! Only negative, a Spring Break trip of French-speaking students came in late and never stopped talking, laughing from walking in auditorium. I wish there was a Tour Guide to tell them shhh! Other than that, ENJOYED the KING CAKE!!!! ANOTHER GREAT WELCOMING TOUCH!!!!!! Parking was $23 in the lot across from Mardi Gras world. If you are cruising out of Port Orleans, definitely worth the short walk-although not sure if they store luggage. But a MUST before heading home! Love that you can roam and take pictures amongst the floats/props freely with the exception of restricted areas. Wish we could have seen artisans in action! We also llearned Blain Kern/Mardi Gras World made props for locally shot movie "Five Nights at Freddie's". My 7 year old loved this fact! Lol!
